There are so many great films that have been produced over the years. And this makes me sad for younger generations. The industry seems to produce more reboots, remakes, sequels and down right rip-offs than original content. They spend more time talking about the cool visual images rather than the story. Just listen to how people talk about new movies these days. This sugar-high craving by viewers has moved film makers to leave good, original writing behind and focus on a new special effect that can wow the audience. I guess my age prevents me from quite understanding this mindset of wanting to only be visually and auditorily stimulated rather than mentally stimulated. The latest CGI special effects are more important than the plot line, the writing, the acting or the cinematography. It almost seems that the most important thing to them is the quality of the image and audio instead of the message of the film.
